In the fourth quarter of 2022, the top 5 Film & Television applications on the Android platform in Kenya presented diverse trends in terms of downloads and active users. Here’s a closer look at the performance of these leading apps.

Netflix experienced significant growth in weekly downloads, starting from 53.6K at the end of September and reaching a peak of approximately 102K by the end of December. Active users also showed an upward trend, increasing from around 451K to 523K during the same period.

StarTimes ON-Live TV, Football saw fluctuating weekly downloads, with a notable spike to 21.7K in late November before settling around 10.7K at the end of December. Its active users exhibited a consistent increase, growing from 21.8K to 23K throughout the quarter.

MyDStv Africa demonstrated a strong performance in downloads, peaking at 24.2K in late November before decreasing to 5.8K by the end of December. Active users showed a similar trend, rising to 126K in late November and then declining to around 86.2K.

Airtel TV exhibited a steady increase in weekly downloads, with a notable surge to 17.9K in mid-December. Active users followed a similar pattern, rising from 15.7K to 25.4K by mid-December before slightly dropping to 20.4K at the end of the quarter.

MyGOtv had a stable download trend, peaking at 16.8K in late November and stabilizing around 7K by the end of December. Active users increased from 22.4K to 26K over the quarter, with a peak of 35.7K in late November.
